No lie, all of these are down right fantastic! At first glance, I think the first one is the best, but, really, you can't beat the last one. My only criticism would be to fix the filament a bit. Make it look more filament-y. The third one is more "text-based" than the others, right? It fits better.
(I've been scrolling up and down, from first to third to second, back to first... I can't stop looking at them, I think they're great!)
... No, I changed my mind. The first one is may fav. I can't decide. But either way I totally praise you for these!

Thanks MiaVRO! I'll certainly keep your feedback in mind. I have the same problem, I can't decide which one to go with! So just keep those comments coming ;)

I love the first design. The colours are gorgeous.

The first one's colours reminds me too much of the original design... so I think the text-bulb is the best one :D

Those are all really awesome! I realize this is over and done with but 1 & 3 are my favs. 1 doesn't look anything like my copy, but I might have a dif. version than timlarsson. Mine's 2007 UK edition. But 3 really reflects the book better I think, and the visual-ness of the text. They're all beautiful though. I'm always blown away that people can just MAKE that sort of thing. I actually starting looking into the book again because I ran across this cover redo an artist did. A bit of a different take than yours, thought I'd share it though.

Oooh! Yeah I see what you mean about the colors. But it's really awesome how jirkavjv also made the text look wet, totally reminds me of the end.
I like how the UK cover (the one you have the pic link of above) used the Rorschach Print concept, really creative. (Although aside from the title and Dr. Randles career, doesn't have much to do with the text as far as I can tell.)

In my oppinion, and many with me, the text has a lot to do with the rorschach test... the thread here is really good when it comes to describe that: http://forums.steven-hall.org/yaf_postst28_Fearful-Symmetry.aspx

I REALLY love the third one - it must've taken quite some time. I hope you made the right choice! :]
