A fragment, salvaged from www.rosstipher.com/StevenHall/secret.html , via Archive.org: " John Wayne cocked the rifle and fired again. Another horse fell, sending its rider catherine-wheeling into the bright red prairie dirt. “See?” Bob took a slow sip of his coffee and reached to put it down beside his chair. “There is no such thing as a stunt horse, Otherpaul,” he said. John Wayne lined up another shot. Bang. “Go on, John,” said Dixon. Otherpaul pointed at the screen. “Well how the fuck to they do that then?” “I don’t know do I?” said Bob. “I reckon they inject them,” Pauli said from the corner of the room. “Fuck off,” said Otherpaul turning around. “With what?” Pauli thought about it. “With chemicals,” he said."

The e in stunt horse on the main page leads to this: http://steven-hall.org/secret/If you look through the page source there's something going on there, but either my web page manipulation or my cipher skills aren't up to the task.

Welcome to the forum. Interesting find. Quote:If you look through the page source there's something going on there, but either my web page manipulation or my cipher skills aren't up to the task. In the source code is the following: Quote:w;leq;e e qwelqj lekj l;ekj ;kqle lkqwjelqkwj elkqwj elkq elk qwlk eqwlk e;lqk e;lk ql;ekj qwlkej qwlk eqwlk elk qel kqwlk we qwkejqekljqwlkejwqlkejql ke;jq;lkejqwk ;lejqwl;kejqlkjeklqwje;lkqwjeqlk lel qe qwlk jeqlwk e;k qwel;k qwk qwlk jelwqk Anyone want to break out the QWERTY code? I would assume that it was copied over directly from Steven's old website since that page you found still says "Steven-Hall.co.uk" in the title. Looking at the source code for the original link I posted gives a link on Otherpaul's name to http://www.rosstipher.com/StevenHall/secret2.html but the Internet Archive doesn't appear to have saved that one.

Really good call on checking the source code. I probably would have assumed it was some sort of flash error. If anyone is going to attempt to decode it in the usual way, they might want to check out [curl=http://forums.steven-hall.org/yaf_postst26_Eva-Signets-Blog-Decryption.aspx]this[/url] thread, where a lot of code breaking happened towards the end there.
Hopefully it's again some kind of qwerty based code (for the sake of familiarity)(unless, of course, it's something much easier to deal with), though I'm not happy to see all those semicolons.

Was looking at the sourcecode before and found this line, Flyout2('ctl00_foSecretlblSecret','ctl00_lblSecret','','ctl00_foSecret_content','BOTTOM_CENTER','MIDDLE','ONMOUSEOVER','ONMOUSEOUT',200,200,200,10,0,0,100,0,true,true);if (ctl00_foSecretlblSecret.removeOCB!=null){ctl00_foSecretlblSecret.registerOpenEffect(new FlyingEffect('MIDDLE_CENTER'));ctl00_foSecretlblSecret.registerCloseEffect(new FlyingEffect('MIDDLE_CENTER'));}}catch(e){alert("Failed to initialize [foSecret] \n.Error:"+ e+ "\nPlease contact support@obout.com for support.");}}oldctl00_foSecretlblSecretload = window.onload;window.onload=function(evt){if (oldctl00_foSecretlblSecretload!=null) oldctl00_foSecretlblSecretload();initctl00_foSecretlblSecret(0);}; looks like it has failed?? should it do something or am I just talking rubbish??

Conceptually yours... wrote: looks like it has failed?? should it do something or am I just talking rubbish?? If you go to http://steven-hall.org/secret/ and hover your cursor over the "a" in Hall (bottom right-hand corner) the text I posted above drops down in a box. That seems to be the FlyOut, ONMOUSEOVER, etc. referred to in the source code. As to the "failed to initialize" part I don't know.

Does the mouse over actually work for you? It might just be a safari thing, but it just sort of spazzes out when I hover over it.

I have to get my mouse cursor in exactly the right spot for it to stay open, and then use my keyboard arrow keys to scroll down to see it. Here's a screencap:

Before I waste any time, has anyone deciphered the apparantly corrupted code from Eva's one from the vault section??

Are you referring to the part that ends "NOTE PROBABLE UNSTABLE TRANSLATION AT LEAST ON B AND P CORRUPT"? If so then yes, I believe that entire text - the morse code proper and the word-version - are both here.

I'm considering that none of this is supposed to be here. I think maybe its just a fib. When there's no page style for the main page, the weird 'w's and ';'s show up too. But if it is something, it would be very exciting to find out what. But i'm apprehensive.

It seems like it's part of most of the pages source, but I can only get the window to expand on the secret page and homepage.
If you look on the facebook group, Steven put up the code as the descriotion for the for the link to the home page. It's significant, but not quite as secret as I had assumed.

I see it now! Hmmm. Is this a test or what? How should we proceed? QWERTY? The masses of semicolons are bothering me a bit. And the only letters that are actually presented are k j e q l ; w

So, using QWERTY, this is what i've got so far. I really am afraid it is just nonsense
Q- W A S Z X C P L
W- Q E A S D Z X C
E- W R S D F Z C V
J- Y U I H K N M Z
K- U I O J L M Z X
L- I O P K A Z X C
; - O P L Q A Z C V

Also, this is really long: Quote:qwkejqekljqwlkejwqlkejql And this is really long: Quote:;lejqwl;kejqlkjeklqwje;lkqwjeqlk ... neither being very probable as actual words. Possibly a web page or something of the like. EDIT: Actually, looking into the last one, Q L K can form C O M so maybe...

Tried a bit of QWERTY myself last night and got the same stuff (got this far (w;leq;e e qwelqj)) and just made no sense.

Could be, but seems like a pretty eccentric example of hitting the keyboard at random. I mean, let me do it right now: Quote:kjdfhdsfgahjaskahjkahjsfjfj;jk There's bit of a wider range there, more stuff towards the home row, etc. Hm.
