Author David Nygren talks about 'Under The Table', his excel spreadsheet short story here. The story is available for download from his site too. I find the idea of the short story explanding into different though familiar modern formats like this really interesting. I've played around with it myself, and would like to do more in the future. Hopefully there will be an entire 'stories for a' series eventually. :) S

That looks absolutely intriguing, I'm going to download it as soon as I'm done backing up some files.

Just read it, its a really good idea, only problem I found was the layout (I kept skipping forward) but I think that might just be me..
Cool.
See in black and white, feel in slow motion....

just finished reading it... it was a good laugh, enjoyable, and an interesting concept...
however, as an excel spreadsheet, it would always be limited to the electronic format. it does work fairly well as a short shory (or maybe even for a screenplay?), but i wouldn't want to read a longer novel in that format. also, if you have too many words in a cell, you can't read it all on the spreadsheet, but have to then read it in the function box above.

Read it today.
Quite interesting, but as pointed out above, it didn't scroll very well. I liked the fact it was graphed as well, made me laugh, perhaps his boss (editor?) uses graphs to obfuscate the detail, like mine.
I did a story in excel a while a go. It was about a group of friends. It was in table form. Names across the top and the years down the left with a description of each year (one word) in each cell, and so told each ones life story.
Hmmm maybe not describing that very well.
