Spatiality in contemporary lit is an extremely interesting topic. i wrote my m.a. thesis on pynchon's against the day and tried to coin something which i dubbed "spatial metafiction". I also argued that chabon's Yiddish Policemen's Union, Danielewski's HoL and McCarthy's The Road might be fitting for that genre.
i unfortunately only read trst afterwards; i guess one could bend it to fit the genre.

in case you're interested in my argument, just let me know. i could email it to you.

cheers, sebastian
