Just came across this piece of work by Anne Carson while browsing a few books on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Nox-Anne-Carson/dp/0811218708/

It's supposed to be a tribute to her late brother, but I don't know much more than that. I was interested in the format of the book which can be seen on the pictures on amazon.
Has anyone heard of this, or her, before? :)

Haven't read it, but I've seen this plenty of times, and it's a VERY intriguing format.

Another book with a pretty darn cool format is The Orignals of Laura by Vladimir Nabokov. If you've read Pale Fire then you have some sort of understanding as to how he writes his drafts - on index cards. This book, a manuscript released by his son i think (?) is a perfect copy of those index cards printed on the page, with perforated outlines to be punched out.

These two books, both Carson and Nabokov, I would always take time out of my day at work (book store) to look through them.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to buy it sometime to see it, because book stores in sweden (not online ones) doesn't have any interesting books. I had to search in many different cities to even find ONE copy of the raw shark texts (and it isn't even a weird book, as these two seems to be. And it's in Swedish!).

What's the point of the perforated pages though? I'd be afraid to rip a page out. It also seemed like it has something to do with another novel he has written before, Laura being an alter ego? (just read some reviews).

I've also found a similar book before, by a swedish author Lotta Lotass, called Den Vita Jorden (the white earth). I'll roughly translate what the publishers page says:

"Lotta Lotass' new 'book' is a collection of text of various lengths about scientific discoveries, industrial exertions and devastating urges of undecided utopian, possibly even megalomanian kind.
The texts, delivered in a box, has no given order. Each reader will order his 148 texts. This arranged attack of the novels chronology and demand of directions isn't just a technical experiment
but even an attempt to by the books design - chaos - lift its plots demand of total order."

(sorry for the poor translation, I did it on the fly, and I guess you'll get the idea)

So, Basically it's 570 pages divided into 148 parts (texts), in which the order you'll have to decide yourself. It's also only printed in 300 copies, so it's quite exclusive. Unfortunately it has no English translation... I've held it in my hands, but I'm just not sure It's something I'd enjoy... Maybe I'll get it someday and tell you :)
