Hey Heartbreak could you recommend an edition for me to order in?

So far I like the UK version best, but I have not seen the Canadian edition up close yet.

Edit: To elaborate. I like the UK version best because of the cover. That's pretty much my only reasoning. The Canadian edition does have the undex bound in to the book and a section about the Aquarium Fragment on the front end papers that the US and the UK editions don't have.

Yeah, I'm kind of torn too. I like the Uk cover best, but the Canadian cover is pretty unique. The U.S. version is the weakest as far as judging by the cover. I think the Undex is a great bonus, but there are pics now, so you could easily do without. Of course, you could order in a signed Uk first.

I'm sort of disappointed by the US version too. As far as I can tell, there's nothing exclusive or sp3cial about it. It lacks the green ink of the UK version, the extra first page that's currently included only in the Cadian version, and the connected 'Undex', again appearing only in the Canadian version.

And judging by the contest of these things (less so the green ink, although coupled with the UK rorschach cover it makes the book pretty beautiful), we in the US sort of missed out. We have two different covers, but there's no actual content difference between them.

I'm planning to fund getting a Canadian version (and possibly even a UK) because I really like the book and want to be able to explore it properly.

But yeah, the US, as far as I can tell, sort of got screwed. : [

Ah; so US version with a different cover.

Do you actually own it? And if so, would you mind taking a picture of/scanning the cover?

It looks sort of neat and that tiny picture isn't really cutting it.

I don't own it, I was sort of holding off for a better edition. At the moment I just have the uncorrected proof.

I figured we could use a thread to discuss the various editions, so I split this from the negatives thread.

well, the best (and most expensive) edition is the goldsboro limited slipcase edition. if you can afford it, that would be the one to get.

Only 500, apparently almost sold out at the source. After than, you'll be paying a lot more.

It is exactly the same as the UK first edition except it has the slipcase and is signed.

so what exactly are the content differences in the books- i got a US copy not even knowing about other versions. is there information that helps u understand the story more? i read somewhere about one of the other fragments mentioned briefly in the US copy but not explained being in a version and then i heard another version had more letters from the first eric.
i feel jipped...
