These are the publishers of the international editions of Raw Shark, with any corresponding promotional site for the book:

Text (Australia)
Companhia das Letras (Brazil) - http://cabecatubarao.com.br/
HarperCollins (Canada) - www.rawshark.ca (now redirects to HarperCollinsCanada)
WSOY (Finland)
Laffont (France)
Piper (Germany) - http://www.piper.de/gedankenhaie/
Livanis (Greece)
Kinneret (Israel)
Mondadori (Italy)
Ambo Anthos (the Netherlands) - www.gehaaid.nu (no longer available)
Gyldendal (Norway)
Cite Publishing (China)
Salamandra (Spain)

Bol.com also have some scans up of the first chapter and of the back cover of the Dutch edition

Interestingly, the title of the French edition - Et Dormir Dans L'Oubli Comme Un Requin Dans L'Onde - is apparently a quote from the poem "The Happy Corpse" by Charles Baudelaire (bottom of pg.140 for the original French and the bottom of pg.141 for the English translation):

"In a rich land, fertile, replete with snails,
I'd like to dig myself a spacious pit
Where I might spread at leisure my old bones
And sleep unnoticed, like a shark at sea

I hate both testaments and epitaphs;
Sooner than beg remembrance from the world
I would, alive, invite the hungry crows
To bleed my tainted carcass inch by inch.

O worms! dark playmates minus ear or eye,
Prepare to meet a free and happy corpse;
Droll philosophes, children of rottenness,

Go then along my ruin guiltlessly,
And say if any torture still exists
For this old soulless corpse, dead with the dead!"

I have a US "White Shark" that is not numbered or signed, which doesn't really mean anything in regard to the UK White Sharks, but I figured I'd mention it.

Did we ever figure out a reason for listing an "Unspace Edition" on the copyright page?

One possibility is that the Unspace Edition refers to the edited version of Bookzer0, as published by Mr. Hall, that got Mr. Webster so annoyed, or it refers to Mr. Hall's private collection. (see Eva's "About Me" section of her Myspace page)

That's what we're trying to figure out; I don't know about your copy of Raw Shark, but certainly in the UK hardback, on the copyright page, under the usual ISBN numbers, is listed an "Unspace Edition".

How does this edition differ from the copy we have read? Does it actually exist, or is it "tagged in a glass case" by the UEC next to Eric's cigarette packet?

Eva Signet, on her Myspace page, makes reference to an edited edition of Bookzer0; but she isn't clear as to whether she was referring to the published edition of Raw Shark Texts, or to this mysterious "Unspace Edition".

Ookay. My copy doesn't say anything about the Unspace Edition, so i was just wondering where it came from.
But it sounds very intriguing. Could the Unspace Edition hold the Gold Index possibly? That's a thought.

What edition are you referencing?

My US White Shark and Canadian hardcover don't include it, while my UK "Exclusive Limited Slipcase Edition" (ISBN: 1847670288) does. My US copy is at a friend's, but I don't remember seeing it.

Also, totally awesome job with that list, benedict. I'm planning on including a guide to editions in the PDoE thread -- maybe even get a full gallery of covers happening.

Hopefully it'll also make note of the differences between them as well.

I am anxiously awaiting a parcel regarding this matter at current.

Well, parcel accounted for.

It seems to Italian edition has some things that might be on interest, named an extra bit after the story of Teksui and the Shotai-Mu (or, "LaStoria de Teksui e Degli Shotai-Mu". I found it mainly because towards the end of the extra text (about a two pages or so) there's some words set in a really large font with a kind of erased line through them.

ma a un
pini e le
avera é
uma ves

I'll get some pictures up soon.

So...anyone speak Italian?

If no one currently here does and Google Translate fails us, we could try sending Raibaz a message.
