does anyone else's copy have pages that have weird glued or pasted strips of paper on certain pages? my book has pink glue affixing another layer of paper on top of part of pages 383, 386, 427, and what would be page 430.
printing oddity? or what?

That is very odd, jes. I've never seen anything like that before. I'll let you know if I hear anything though.

I've seen this before, on a copy of House of Leaves, actually.
I think it happens when one ream of paper is used in the printing ends, and the next one picks up. I'm not a printer or anything myself, so I don't know the specifics, but I'm about 95% sure it's nothing more meaningful than a small printing error that didn't get noticed and pulled.
I have seen really messed up printing errors before, though. I think it was a copy of Chuck Palahniuk's Haunted in paperback where almost every page was connected to the one in front of it, in one way or another, making the book basically impossible to be opened.
Which, considering Haunted...well, it might not be the biggest tragedy in the world.

I, too, have seen this. It is merely a printing error. There is nothing hidden underneath. :)
