I recently heard of this book through NPR and I think this crowd would be quite interested in it:

THE VORRH - B. Catling

Sounds interesting, will definitely check it out! I've read Jeff Vandermeer's City of Saints and Madmen & Veniss Underground, and this looks to be along the same lines in terms of weirdness...

Read Red Dragon by Thomas Harris after LOVING the Hannibal TV series.

Now on to City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett for a sci/fi fantasy book club. I'm not a big fan of fantasy novels, really, but I'm getting the hang of this one!

Finished the Hannibal book series, and I think the third book 'Hannibal' was pretty phenomenal!

I'm reading A Fire Upon The Deep by Vernor Vinge for my book club now. It's super Science FICTION-y, so that's a change for me. We'll see how it goes!

Well.... I'm just gonna keep up with telling you all (wherever you are... anyone... anyone there?) what I'm reading.

WOOL by Hugh Howley (omg amazing)

TIGANA by Guy Gavriel Kay (Reading this for my book club -- we are actually having an author event WITH him at the end of the month!)

Wool was a lot of fun. I need to read the next two still. Currently rereading Stranger In A Strange Land by Heinlein.

@heartbreak I read that one a few months ago! It is a great scifi classic, and I loved the characters.

I finished Wool last night, and then promptly started the second.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!
In Wool I love how much the author "expired" characters. It was so easy to get close to them, and so unexpected when they left. Made me feel like NO character was safe! I like a book with a good amount of sacrifice ; )

The Wool trilogy was great!

Speaking of trilogies, just finished reading the first two books from The Three-Body Trilogy from Cixin Liu… fantastic stuff, and can't wait for the last book to be released. Also just picked up City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin.

Just started reading Dark Matter by Blake Crouch… parallel universe themed novel that should appeal to a lot of you!!

Last month read To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis -- cute little time travel novel

Now reading Memories of Ice by Steven Erikson -- epic fantasy, not my thing, but the club chose.

It was my second time reading it. The first time I read it was about 15 years ago. I still greatly enjoyed the commentary on alien perception but this time around I really noticed how blatantly sexist it is. Which was interesting, either I had forgotten since I read it the first time or I've changed a bit.
